Our Movie Night Fundraiser, Sound of Freedom, is this evening at Palace Nova, Prospect (98 Prospect Rd). Starting time is 6:30pm (please arrive 10-15 mins early). NB: There is no Vespers tonight due to the movie night.
Servers’ practice continues tomorrow, 5:30-6:30pm.
The 18-25 Young Adults meet tomorrow, beginning with adoration 6:30-7pm at Holy Name Church, followed by a social activity nearby.
Scripture class resumes tomorrow Mon. 28th Aug. at 7:30pm. All welcome.
The Holy Name Men’s Group meets this Wed. at 7pm at Dulwich. We are continuing our journey through the Gospel according to St John. All Welcome.
Fr Sofatzis’ Thurs. evening classes are in recess for a few weeks.
This Friday is the 1st Friday of the Month.
- 10am: Mothers’ Rosary Group meets for morning tea and the Rosary. Please contact Louise Moir for location and details.
- 5:30-6:15pm: Children’s evening catechism classes.
- 6:30pm: Low Mass followed by 1st Fri. Devotions and Benediction with Adoration continuing overnight until 6:30am Saturday.
- 3am: Holy Hours for the clergy
- 5:30am: Holy Hours for families
- Masses on Saturday morning are at 7am and 8:30am.
Fathers’ Day Cake Stall: Sun. 3rd Sept. is our annual cake stall to raise money for the bus hire for our October CREX Pilgrimage. All donations of cakes greatly appreciated. Thank you.
With gracious thanks to the Salesians, Holy Name Church is privileged to host the relic-statue of St John Bosco from 3-7pm on Sun. 3rd Sept. We will have prayers and devotions (see flyer here), asking for St John’s intercession for the success of the new school our community hopes to start next year.
Members from our parish have put together a magazine called Agony, which includes essays, poetry, fiction, and visual art. It is for sale at the bookstall. If you are interested in submitting, please talk to Sean Haylock .
Fathers and Sons Camp: Flyers as well as information and registrations forms are available for our Fathers and Sons Camp (6:30pm Fri. 22nd Sept. to ~1pm Sun. 24th Sept.) It will be for Primary and High School boys (past 1st Holy Communion), with their fathers / legal guardian. Cost: $100 per person / $300 per family.
Men’s Retreat: There is a proposed 4 Day Retreat for Men with Fr Adrian Wee FSSP (5-9 Jan. 2024 in Belair). Please take a flyer (or download here) and let us know if you are interested or make a booking at the table near the bookstall after the 9:15am Mass.
Fr McCaffrey is on leave from 17th – 27th August; Fr Sofatzis is on leave 28th Aug. – 12th Sept.

A young man is seeking to obtain a driver’s license to enable him to work. If you have a vehicle and are available to supervise him to increase his hours, please contact Fr Sofatzis.
