NB: Good Friday is a day of fasting (1 full meal and 2 snacks which together don’t amount to a second full meal) for all those between 18-59 years old, and a day of abstinence from flesh meat for all those aged over 14 years. All days of Lent (excepting Sundays and Solemnities) are days of penance.

Please keep those who will be baptised next weekend in your prayers this week. Please also note: the Easter Vigil is expected to take approx. 3 hours.

This year the Paschal fire will be in the sunken garden next to the church.

Please note that there will be no 5pm Mass on Easter Sunday.

There are no Scripture or Catechism Classes this week.

Servers’ practice has been moved to Tues. 5:30-7pm this week.

There will be a small celebration after the Easter Vigil concludes next week.

Easter Monday 2nd April is a public holiday. There will be one Mass at 8:30am.
There will be Scripture Class on Easter Monday at 7:30pm.

As previously announced, Br Bede Cannavo OSB will be ordained to the priesthood on Wed. 3rd April in Hobart. Br Bede is a former member of this community. He will visit us in June this year to offer Mass and give 1st blessings. To celebrate his ordination this community will present him with a set of vestments when he visits us. If you would like to contribute to the purchase of these vestments, please see Fr McCaffrey. Please keep Br Bede in your prayers as he prepares for ordination.

Mon. 8th April marks the 5th Anniversary of the Foundation of the Carmel of Jesus Mary and Joseph in Mathoura, NSW. There will be a 10:30am Solemn Pontifical Mass with Solemn Profession of Sr Gabriela, OCD. Date claimer: We will be holding a fundraiser movie night on Tues. 16th April at 6:30pm. The movie is “Cabrini” about the life of St Francis Xavier Cabrini (Mother Cabrini), an Italian immigrant to New York in the 19th century. More details to follow.
