General Notices

If you are new to the Latin Mass or new to Holy Name, please do not hesitate to introduce yourself to either Fr McCaffrey or Fr Sofatzis after Mass. Here is also some information that you may like to read before attending.

There is weekly morning tea after the Sunday 9:15am Sung Mass at the Meeting Room (located diagonally across the carpark). Fortnightly (outside of Advent and Lent) barista-made coffee is also available as well as small snacks, from our very own ‘Trad Café’. Please join us there for a cuppa and a chat!

Weekly Highlights for 26 November 2023 – 2 December 2023

There will be a Cooked Breakfast fundraiser for the Youth Group today after the 8am and 9:15am Masses. Sausage and Drink $5; Scones, Jam and Cream $8; there will also be a plant stall (~$10 or less).

Servers’ practice continues tomorrow at 5:30pm; and Scripture class resumes at 7:30pm.

The 18-25 Young Adults’ Group meets tomorrow, Monday 27 Nov. beginning with Adoration at Holy Name at 6:30pm followed by a social activity. All welcome.

The Holy Name Men’s Group meets for the last time this year on Wed. at 7pm at the presbytery at Dulwich. Beginning with the Rosary, followed by pizza (bring $5) and continuing our reading of the Gospel according to St John. All welcome.

The 18-25 Young Adults’ Group meets tomorrow, Monday 27 Nov. beginning with Adoration at Holy Name at 6:30pm followed by a social activity. All welcome.

Fr Sofatzis continues a 5-week course on Dr Brant Pitre’s Book Jesus and the Jewish Roots of Mary this Thursday 7:30-8:30pm. All welcome.

We will be hosting the 40 Hours Adoration Devotion beginning this Friday 1st December and continuing till Sunday morning 3rd December. Please see flyer here for schedule and to sign-up please click here. The Eucharistic Miracles of the World Exhibition designed by Bl. Carlo Acutis will be on display throughout.

This Friday is the 1st Friday of the Month.
– 10am: Mothers’ Rosary Group meets for morning tea and the Rosary. Contact Louise Moir here for details and location.
– 5:30pm: Children’s catechism classes.
– 6:30pm: Sung Mass to begin 40 Hours Adoration, followed by a Eucharistic Procession, Litany of the Saints and Night Prayer. There will be the usual Holy Hours for the clergy at 3am and families at 5:30am.
Masses on Saturday morning are at 7am and 8:30am.

Fraternity Calendars and Christmas Cards are on sale at the bookstall. Calendars are $15, and packs of Christmas Cards are $10.

Matt Fradd will be presenting a talk followed by Q&A on Mon. 4th Dec. at 7:30pm in the Ellengowan Hall at Holy Name. Please see flyer here for details.

Giving Boxes for donations of non-perishable foodstuffs will be at the back of the Church from next Sunday. These are given to the Hutt St Centre to give to the needy this Christmas. Thank you for your generosity.

There will be a day of recollection for Mothers at Holy Name on Wed. 10th Jan. given by Fr Adrian Wee FSSP. Please see the flyer here for details.

Please refrain from bringing food items into the church. Thank you.

Please remember the sick in your prayers, especially Damian Wyld, Domenic Marafiote, Hannah McCaffrey, Michael Turnbull (Bob Turnbull’s brother), Kathryn Nader, Tony Caruso and Vincenza Martucci (Ines Barson’s mother). Please also remember the recently deceased, especially David Bruer (Mike Bruer’s father) and Gregory Mach (Daniel Mach’s father) and those whose anniversaries occur about this time.
