Children who are at least 7 years of age are welcome to attend a series of weekly Catechism classes in preparation for their first Confession and Holy Communion. These classes begin in February and are held each Sunday for 10 consecutive weeks. Delivered by experienced catechists and overseen by the parish priests, these classes aim to teach children about the Faith in an age-appropriate and engaging manner. It is also expected that the parents play an active role in their children’s Catechesis by completing set tasks at home.
After their First Holy Communion, children are invited to attend the Post-Holy Communion classes which are held on the first Sunday of every month until the end of the year. These classes present a chance for children to extend their knowledge of the Faith and also build relationships with other children.
If you are interested in registering your children for these classes, please contact Fr McCaffrey. Please note that classes are limited to children of Holy Name parishioners.
