Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

Please note that Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is finished for 2022. To enroll your children for next year, please contact Lucia Snelling at lucia.snelling[at]hotmail.com

The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (or the Atrium) is a Christian formation process for children aged 3 to 12 years. The central aim of this process is to help the child nurture their own personal relationship with God.

The Atrium is grounded in scripture and the liturgy of the Church. It is set up with hands-on materials using a method developed by Italian physician and educator Maria Montessori, for the religious formation of the child.

There are three Classes offered at the The Church of the Holy Name:

  • Level 1 (3 to 6 year olds): Tuesday 10:15am – 12:15pm and Wednesday 10am – 12pm
  • Level 2 (6 to 9 year olds): Thursday 4pm to 6 pm

Classes usually run for 8 weeks per term. Program starts one week after school begins and ends one week before school holidays.

Children can start any term in the year as long as they are three years old and are toilet trained.

From time to time, due to other events in the liturgical calendar or public holidays, the meeting may be cancelled. Please check the latest bulletin here.

The event is finished.
